    1. I just started researching my Cinelli history and came across your message. I too found a Muccigrosso in our family, her first name is Philomena and who married Giuseppe Cinelli. Any relation?

  1. I am trying to find out any information I can on Carlo Domenico Cordone son of Giuseppe Cordone. Possible birthdate 1865 or 1885. He immigrated to the US in 1889 leaving his wife behind (Antonia Cinelli Cordone) and son Giuseppe Cordone who married Giuseppa Falcone.
I have started a Facebook open Group called Cordone Genealogy to track his ancestry. If anyone can shed some light on this family I would appreciate it.

  2. Jill Cordone-

Since my father recently passed, I started looking into all this. Carlo Cordone (also Cardone) was my great grandfather on my dad’s side. I do not use Facebook. I certainly can tell you about the family he started in US. I would be interested to know further back in his ancestry on the Italian side. Thanks.

  3. My grandmother was a di Lecce. Her parents were from macchia valfortore. I don’t see anyone by that name listed in the phone book. Did they die out?

  4. Hello,
My grandfather, his parents and his half brother all came to the USA from Macchia Valfortore around very early 1900s. Names are: Antonio Carozza, Guiseppe Carozza, Maria Nicola Muccigrosso Carozza (possibly Lanza was also part of her surname as her sister, Severia Lanza, was her husband’s first wife). Does anyone know if any of these families are still there? Not sure how to research it.

  5. My grandmother Madelena Molinari came to Elmira NY in 1905. Her parents were Marianna Cardo and Sal Molinari.
There were Carrozza’s and Muccigrosso’s in Elmira. It seems growing up all those families knew each other. I would like myself to go to Italy to find some relatives.

  6. Joanne Wright, I am from Elmira NY so the Carozza’s and Muccigrosso’s there are most likely my relatives. I think I knew some Molinari’s too. I have gone to Italy a couple times but have been told that Molise area is not much for tourists, with little English spoken. I don’t speak Italian so not sure how a meeting would go but I am going to do it someday. 🙂
Hope you get a chance to visit!
